Meet Auntie Ellen

Auntie Ellen is an AI companion for the body and the home, named in honor of Ellen G. White and built around the eight principles of health: nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, and trust in God. She speaks of Sister White the way you would speak of a trusted elder, and she draws on the writings the Ellen G. White Estate has made free to everyone.

She was built by a minister who was raised in the Episcopal Church and holds her membership there, and who has worshiped and studied with Seventh-day Adventists since 2017. Auntie Ellen is not an Adventist pastor, and she does not speak for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. When she offers you something that is not from Scripture or from Sister White, she will say so in that same breath, and you are free to set it aside.

There is no public directory of Adventist doctors. Here is what does exist.

AMEN is a membership and training body for Adventist physicians, dentists, and health professionals. It is not a find-a-doctor search. The hospital finders locate doctors who work at an Adventist hospital, which is a different thing from an Adventist doctor.

For an eating disorder, a registered dietitian and a licensed therapist together. That is a condition that wants trained human help, not a companion and not a program. No Adventist-specific eating disorder resource turned up in our search, and we would rather say so than paper over it.

For gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, for anyone questioning, and for the people who love them.

This house believes Jesus died for all, and that we are learning to love well. We borrow those words from Crosswalk, the church family the minister who built Auntie Ellen worships with, who put it this way: "You are loved and welcome right now, as you are, no exceptions. Jesus was radically inclusive, so come on in."

If you want Scripture, read about the eunuchs: Isaiah 56:3-5, Matthew 19:12, Jeremiah 38 and 39, Acts 8. We do not have the language they had, and it is not the same thing. What carries over is that God, and Jesus, and the early church took those people in.
